Nestled amongst lush tropical forest and overlooking the aquamarine lagoon of Savusavu Bay, this magnificent home befit an unspoilt eco-paradise.

The extraordinary views from the huge decks highlight the idyllic surrounds of Fiji's Vanua Levu. The beautifully appointed home with air conditioning in the master bedroom is situated only 50 metres from the beach and coral reef with good snorkeling. The world famous Jean Michel Cousteau Resort is only a short walk or swim away.

Vaivai house was designed by us and built by one the principal builders in Savusavu in 2000 using a range of local timbers. The house can comfortably sleep six. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen and lounge opening onto the decks. There is a loft and a porta-cot. Our focus was to blend the house in with a unique environment and native vegetation. The atmosphere is well captured in the latest edition of the Lonely Planet (ref page 199..map p 198) where the house and the one next door were selected as the “Author’s Choice” for medium range accommodation.

A note from the owners, Christine and Roy Ames

“Christine and I have had a long association with Fiji. Christine and two of our children were born in Fiji and Christine has spent half her lifetime living in the country. Roy worked for the Sugar Industry for ten years. We built the Vaivai with the assistance of local friends to spend as much of our retirement years as possible in the country. At other times when we are unable to be in Fiji we would like to share our home will others.

Christine has a very good knowledge the local history and culture and has produced a reading list that is supplied to every quest, together with a book that will help guests understand in a small way the complexities the local culture that sadly is poorly understood and misrepresented by neighbouring governments. We endorse the current efforts by the Government in their endeavours to enhance the well being of the local people.”

Note:- Our friends Karen and Edward Bower also have a beautiful house to rent. Please contact them on tripntour@connect.com.fj. The prices for Davui are shown under reservations but please do not attempt to book this house on this website. Click Vaivai to book our house.
